Have you heard this one?…What’s the difference between a lawyer and a boxing referee? A boxing referee doesn’t get paid more for a longer fight. Maybe it’s because I live here in southern Oregon, but Ashland lawyers don’t seem to be the same breed of vultures as in the larger metropolitan variety. The New York, Chicago, Los Angeles type of attorney that would sell their own grandmother if it meant winning a case.
The Ashland lawyers that I have seen actually seem to enjoy the law. They have good relationships with the local judges and other attorneys, and actually try to get things done. Unlike the joke, most of the Ashland lawyers that I’ve seen are trying to drag the cases out strictly to screw their clients out of more money.
