ASHLAND ATTORNEY
I have always heard people complain about frivolous lawsuits, but I never really thought too much about it until it happened to me. I was served with papers a couple of months ago be some man that I have never met decided to sue me for almost a million dollars. I actually had to find an Ashland Attorney to defend me. I’m a single parent. I don’t have a million dollars, heck I am happy when I have ten dollars in my wallet.
This guy is in Kentucky, ten years ago, refinanced his house and took out a second mortgage on his house. Well I guess he had some financial trouble and the house ended up getting foreclosed upon and he declared bankruptcy. Where do I play into all this you ask? He guy’s loan officer was an old boyfriend of mine. The man was angry and no one else would listen to him, so he tried to come after me and my old boyfriend. I never met this guy in Kentucky, there was no contract between him and me, I wasn’t even dating the loan officer at the time that he took out his loan, but I sure had to find an Ashland attorney to defend myself. The man was grasping at straws, and the case was dismissed, but not until I had to pay a couple thousand dollars.
